Established in Annapolis, MD in 1999 — and with offices in Charlottesville, VA and Middleburg, VA — Purple Cherry Architects is a high-end custom residential architecture and interior design firm serving clients across the country. Our firm specializes in luxury residential projects featuring elegant architectural detail and beautiful spaces that excite and reflect our clients.

We seek a highly intelligent Director of Operations to join the growing, fast paced team in our Annapolis office. There will be some light travel to our other office locations but it will not be significant in any way. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of significant experience in operations roles in the design or construction industry and/or will be a registered experienced architect with a strong business savvy. We are looking for an individual that is motivated, flexible, outgoing and performs well in a team-oriented studio environment.

The Director of Operations is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operating activities, including staffing; project scheduling/deliverables management; client budget oversight; timesheet/invoicing reviews; proposal development/reviews; revenue and sales growth; expense, cost and margin control; monthly, quarterly, and annual financial goal management; and liability insurance renewals, among other responsibilities.

The Director of Operations must also have a deep understanding of the full architectural and construction process and should possess a strong managerial capability to lead and direct the activities of all project-team personnel.

Your Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in architecture from an accredited university

MBA degree preferred

10+ years of experience
