Our Supply Chain team are looking for Project Manager(s) with a solid background of working on large complex transformation projects. This is truly a ‘once in a career' opportunity so if you like to be kept busy then you'll definitely enjoy this role!

‘Future' is the name for the programme that will see Asda create their new operating model, independent from Walmart. This is a Business facing role, not tech, however you will need to work closely with tech colleagues, as well as a broad range of stakeholders, both within the business, and 3rd party vendors. This is a hugely ambitious program of work and one that will underpin the way the entire business will operate in the future.

You'll report into the Senior Programme Manager where you won't have any direct reports, but you'll have the opportunity to help mentor other colleagues within the team and department, and will matrix manage the project team.

Please note this is an 18-month secondment / fixed term position, but a high percentage of our fixed term colleagues secure permanent opportunities along the way.

Your Role

• Owning and managing overall project plans (timescales, budgets/finances, resources, governance)
• Working with third parties and internal tech and business teams to ensure on time , high quality delivery
• Overall responsibility for project artefacts (risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, RACI, decisions logs)
• Responsible for official status reporting and ensuring the Senior Programme Manager, Tower Lead and other key stakeholders receive regular updates on progress
• You will identify, communicate and resolve risks, concerns, issues, and dependency blockers, initiating appropriate escalation to the Senior Programme Manager where required
• Liaising/coordinating with other project teams to manage interdependencies, align on timescales and coordinate resources

About You

• You are an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of project delivery, utilising methodologies such as Waterfall & Agile into challenging, complex, ambiguous, and fast paced Retail environments.
• You will have experience of managing cross functional resource and motivating diverse teams.
• You will have experience of Microsoft Project, and creating and maintaining project plans
• You will have Retail project delivery or transformation experience.
• You'll have excellent written & verbal communication skills, and will be experienced in managing and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the business.
