Location: Sage Gateshead

Working hours: Casual contract, flexible evening and weekend work required including over the Christmas period

Salary: SCP 14 – 16, £7.16 - £9.79 per hour + 12.07% holiday pay

About the role of
Food & Beverage Team Member at Sage Gateshead

Our F&B Team members are key parts of our visitor experience team. All F&B Team Members are direct representatives of Sage Gateshead; offering a welcoming, warm and professional service to our audiences and visitors. You will work across our F&B outlets depending on business needs. This includes our bars, café, waiting team and brasserie. You will also work on our prestigious conferences and external hire events. Our F&B team members will only be permitted to serve/sell alcohol in accordance with licensing law. If you are under the age of 18 you will be allocated alternative duties within the F&B portfolio.


Your responsibilities:

Operational Duties

  • Work as part of the Visitor Experience and FOH Team to deliver excellent customer service
  • Serve customers efficiently and appropriately, with a professional and warm manner
  • Make drinks, including barista coffees when required [training will be provided]
  • Operate table service for food and/or drinks as appropriate
  • Work in tandem with the kitchen team to deliver efficient food service
  • Ensure you are aware of allergens in any food/drink served. If you are in doubt refer queries to the on[1]duty manager immediatly
  • At all times comply with licensing law and internal policy pertaining to the sale and service of alcohol. If you are in doubt refer queries to the on-duty manager immediately
  • Upsell and recommend products where appropriate
  • Prep all outlets for service, and ensure that all outlets are correctly cleaned down at the end of each service run
  • Ensure that your service area is kept clean and tidy throughout service and opening hours
  • Proactively look for opportunities to enhance visitors’ experience during their time at Sage Gateshead
  • Ensure that cash handling is completed in accordance with agreed policy and procedure
  • Adhere to the correct uniform standards
  • Report any incidents or equipment issues to relevant staff members as needed, following policy and procedure

  • Comply with all food safety and hygiene measures
  • Proactively ensure that all back of house and front of house areas are clean and tidy at all times


General

  • Develop an excellent knowledge of Sage Gateshead’s programme and audience
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety protocols
  • Adhere to GDPR guidelines
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested of you in your role
