Would you like to play key role in ensuring our leisure facilities are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Cleaner to join our team. Reporting to the Leicester Leys Leisure Centre Management team, you’ll be a valued member of staff ensuring cleaning standard are met.. You’ll work around varying conditions and require excellent prioritisation of tasks dependant on the specific situation.

As part of a team of Cleaners, you’ll be required to work adaptable hours for the service when needed, we are currently seeking to add an evening cleaner to our team working Monday- Friday 6.30pm-9.30pm. Salary shown is pro rata.


What you’ll be doing


As a Cleaner, you’ll clean public and staff only areas both indoors and outside Around the Leisure Centre, including toilets and changing rooms. You’ll emptying litter bins, vacuum/sweep designated communal areas as well remove any unpleasant substances. You’ll ensure your work is completed in line with all legal requirements including COSHH regulations, and those relating to health and safety and the use of mechanical equipment. You’ll carry out manual handling of cleaning equipment, a range of tools and buckets of water in between work areas to ensure cleaning duties are completed efficiently. you’ll provide a friendly, high quality customer service by assisting customers where you can or signposting them to the reception team.


What you will need


Ideally, you’ll have experience of carrying out general cleaning duties in public duties or you’ll have the ability to undertake relevant cleaning tasks. You’ll have basic literacy and numeracy skills sufficient for safe compliance with COSHH, to maintain cleaning records and complete incident forms. With an awareness of your duties and responsibilities in relation to health and safety, you’ll be able to use mechanical cleaning equipment and chemicals safely. You’ll be willing to work in unpleasant environments such as public toilets, outdoors in winter months. With the ability to be comfortable with working around the public including in actively used toilets, you’ll be able to work on your own with minimal supervision and use your initiative.
