About the Role:
As an Analytics Engineer, you will be on a mission to help develop a single unified view of AKDM’s data and speed up the cycle of insight. With a broad knowledge of the digital marketing analytics space from current industry trends to technical platform expertise, you will provide the opportunity for deeper client experiences and improving AKDM’s organizational growth. You will work with your counterparts across the Media, SEO, S&I, BI, Finance, and Customer Success teams to empower AKDM’s clients with a data-driven culture of measurement.
This role would collaborate with data engineers to automate reporting systems and with solution engineers to deploy reusable data structures. The ideal candidate would be highly adaptable to new areas of domain knowledge and would apply thought beyond technical requirements into business use cases and analysis.
The salary range for the Data Analytics Engineer position is between $100,000 and $110,000. The actual annual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as the individual's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Take charge of the OAuth and API work to integrate various third party data sources in various formats.
- Build the infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading data from a wide variety of data sources using big data technologies.
- You’ll collaborate with agency counterparts to define metrics for web, marketing, app, and operational-related initiatives; you'll work with the data engineer in modeling and maintaining KPIs.
- You’ll own the development of metrics, data models and the underlying ETL/ELT pipeline that powers the dashboards and reporting designed by our agency counterparts, which in turn supports strategic decision-making by leadership.
- Work with the data engineer to automate, design, build, deploy, and optimize the data architecture and estimated time to launch pipelines to make accessible for end users that enable self-service consumption.
- You’ll act as both the technical and business expert to help streamline decision-making between our data engineering team, and core business services, including media, SEO and business intelligence.
- You’ll identify and debug issues with core metrics, and coordinate with fellow Analytics team members and stakeholders to utilize one source-of-truth.
- Develop and communicate strong opinions about best practices in Analytics Engineering.
- Strong drive to organize and document data and best practice in a reproducible manner.
- Develop batch audits of data ingestion, data pipeline, and data resource systems for availability, maintenance, reusability, performance, scalability, security, standardization, etc. to refine the end-to-end architecture.
Competencies:
- 2+ years experience working in analytical capacity modeling and/or interpreting data (i.e., data analyst, data science, data engineer, consultant).
- Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Information Systems, or hands-on job experience with data science or analytics.
- Experience using data integration software such as Adverity, Fivetran or Stitch.
- Experience communicating with third party endpoints for data extraction.
- Highly skilled at writing and interpreting complex SQL queries.
- Experience with modern data stacks (Big Query, Microsoft SQL Server, Google Cloud Functions, ETL tools such as Airflow, dbt, etc).
- Working knowledge of a scripting language for data processing (e.g. Python).
- Ability to precisely and effectively communicate technical challenges and limitations, and the results of your analyses directly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Underlying understanding of databases and data structures
- Possess an intuition for understanding underlying business needs and a knack for dealing with ambiguity.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience building dashboards with a data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker)
- Experience working with marketing (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc) platforms and data, or have worked on measuring sales performance indicators.
- Prior experience in Marketing Focused Roles, Analytics Consulting, or a Growth Stage company
- Ready to be part of a tight-knit, growing team; ambitious, can work independently as well as collaboratively and possess interpersonal skills
