Job description
The Children’s Society
Starting salary from: £61,125 (National) £63,990 (London)
Working week: 35 hours (flexible options may be considered)
Location: National – frequent travel is expected and required
The Children’s Society is a national charity working to transform the hopes and happiness of young people experiencing low well-being, who may be facing abuse, exploitation and neglect. We support them through their most serious life challenges, and we campaign tirelessly for the big social changes that will improve the lives of those who need hope most. We've been doing this for 140 years and we won't stop until we've built a society where hope is alive in every child.
The Children’s Society is at an exciting stage of its journey, with new strategic objectives. We’ve got big ambitions for children and would love to hear from you if you share our passion and commitment to reverse the damaging decline in children’s well-being.
We are seeking a creative thinker to join our senior leadership team and deliver excellence in youth practice programmes that have a national remit, focussed either in the areas of emotional health & wellbeing, adolescent risk or child poverty across a large national footprint. This unique role also leads our Systemic Impact functions, which are central to ensuring we have the knowledge and insight about how we can improve the systems that impact on children and young people’s lives, and knowhow of the tools and levers to utilise effect change in those systems – including policy; systems change; research and evaluation and service design. Bringing our systemic change closer to our youth practice - informing the work of the wider organisation and actively contributing to strategic funding decision making, our political influencing and policy work, our story telling and youth voice initiatives.
This is a great time to join us and lead a dynamic and committed team to take The Children’s Society work with young people and drive systemic change – taking our work to the next level and creating even more impact.
We value and promote diversity and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive culture at The Children’s Society. We also appreciate the best leadership teams reflect the communities they serve. We therefore strongly encourage applications from people across all groups that are underrepresented.
The Children’s Society is committed to safeguarding and protecting the children and young people that we work with. As such, all posts are subject to a safer recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks. We ensure that we have a range of policies and procedures in
place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services.
This role is full time and can benefit from hybrid working combining working from home/from other TCS bases. Extensive travel will apply.
