In just under two years, Octopus Electric Universe has grown to become one of the largest eMobility players in the UK & Europe, with over 320,000 connected electric vehicle chargers and a customer ecosystem spanning web, iOS, Android, CarPlay, Android Auto, and more.
But it’s just the start: we’re busy launching in new countries, working with more automotive and tech partners, building exciting new features at scale, and creating the charging platforms of the future - all in the name of making public EV charging super simple for customers.
Electric Universe is a multifunctional team made up of product, development, commercial, operations, partnerships and more - all focused together on making Octopus the name in EV charging. And we’re looking for smart individuals with an interest in the space who can help us make it happen.
What you'll do
- Test digital and physical product features out in the real world, around the UK (and possibly further, upon agreement)
- Gather feedback, insights & data on product performance
- Gather data on charging infrastructure
- Work on a testing and feedback plan, and work with the product team to identify the most valuable feedback required at any one-time
- Proactively help to optimize and organize testing with internal and external testing resource
- Create clear and concise testing instructions or playbook
- Contribute to improvements and new features through detailed real-world testing
- Help solve public charging difficulties once and for all!
What you'll need
- Be willing to drive on longer trips for up to several days at a time - hotels and expenses will be covered
- Ideally you’ll own an electric vehicle! Otherwise we can source one for you
- Fantastic written communication skills: you’re able to write extremely clear feedback that can be acted on by a technical team
- Technical understanding: you’ll need to be able to engage with how our product works on a technical level, in order to deeply understand any issues we’re looking to solve, and how your testing contributes to that process
- Organised and friendly; you’ll be working with others so ensuring to maximise your own time as well as theirs
- Enthusiasm for the subject matter! We’re trying to make EV ownership and public charging super simple and super smart - we’re off to a good start but we need your help to ensure that what we’re building is high-quality and solving the biggest everyday needs of EV drivers
- You love working as part of a team - you’ll be collaborating with product owners, developers and designers as you help us build a fantastic product
