Position Summary

WFS wants to hire a Foster Care Coordinator for our Foster Care & Adoption Program. A Foster Care Coordinator offers a wide range of supportive services for children residing with our Resource Families. The Foster Care Coordinator provides crucial support to the child(ren), their family of origin and their resource family. The Foster Care Coordinator is a critical team member and represents the child, the child’s birth family, the foster family and Wesley Family Services at permanency planning and team meetings with Children and Youth Services. This full-time position offers a flexible weekly schedule, regular supervision and all equipment required.

Responsibilities and Duties (full description available at https://wfspa.org/careers )

• Develops a strong and supportive relationship with each child coming into care.
• Assesses social, educational, developmental, safety and needs for all children entering foster care.
• Creates, with the child and family, an Individual Service Plan (ISP).
• Ensures quality service delivery to children with medical, behavioral, or developmental needs.
• Maintains a continuous supportive relationship with the child while they are in care with WFS.
• Maintains a consistent and supportive relationship with the foster family and assists them to meet the child’s needs.
• Compassionately supports the relationship between the child and their family of origin by assisting with contact and visits to assist the reunification process.

Education:

Preferred: Bachelor’s in a Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Sociology, Family Systems or Psychology or related field. Related Associate Degrees will also be considered.

Experience:

At least two years’ experience in a social service setting working with children and families. (Experience can be in paid employment, internships, practicums or lived experience.)

Licenses, Certifications & Clearances:

PA Act 33/34 Clearances; FBI Clearances obtained no longer than one year before start date, Valid PA Class 1 Driver’s License; Access to a reliable and properly insured motor vehicle for client transportation and fieldwork and a safe driving record.
