POSITION TITLE: Grounds Keeper

DEPARTMENT: Administration

SUPERVISOR: Grounds and Animal Control Manager

SALARY: Level 12 - $13.94, 13 – $14.63, 14 – $15.37

CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for daily support operations for all grounds maintenance of areas in an around the Administrative Building, YPT Clinic, YPT Education Center, Community Center, Community Park(s) within the Reservation and Colony; as well as the YPT Enterprise entities.

DUTIES:

• The incumbent shall be responsible for upkeep of the grounds and buildings at the Tribal Administration, Social Services, ICWA, Education, and Arrowhead Market and other facilities.
• Individual will utilize or be exposed to the use of Lawn / Grounds Maintenance Equipment that will require safety awareness, to include, but not limited to:
• Lawn Tractor
• Edger / Blower
• Front Loader / Back Hoe
• Hand Tools

• Vehicle Support Operations; Driving; routine maintenance and repairs
• Safety Inspections; Winter Safety – Spreading Salt on parking lots and walk ways.
• On call support and knowledge of Septic Support Systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Working knowledge of grounds keeping and general building maintenance.
• Knowledge of gardening irrigation systems.
• Preference will be given for experience with power tools and heavy equipment.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License and be insurable.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and complete background investigation.

WORK ENVIORNMENT:

Work is generally performed in an outside setting with extreme temperatures with both heat and cold. Work will be utilizing power tools that may require hearing or eye protection.
