We are seeking to recruit registered nurses to work on our Healthcare Advice Line as Clinical Advisors. The Healthcare Advice Line gives policy holders 24/7 access to a health professional by telephone.

As a Clinical Advisor, you will speak directly to patients aged 18 and over and assess their health needs. You will use your clinical judgement and expertise to either signpost them to an appropriate service (for example: video GP consultation with their private provider, their own NHS GP or an Urgent Care Centre) or give them advice on how to manage their condition at home. You will be expected to recognise emergency situations and escalate them accordingly. You will be confident in recognising and reporting any safeguarding concerns.

You will work remotely and autonomously and therefore must be experienced and confident in clinical reasoning and decision making at this level. You must be compassionate and an excellent communicator.

The role is fully remote, but you must be based in the UK. You will be provided with all the necessary equipment to access the relevant clinical systems and conduct patient consultations. The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and successful candidates will be required to participate in a full shift rota to cover these requirements.

Essential criteria:

• NMC registered nurse with the right to work in the UK. Exceptional candidates from outside of the UK may be eligible for tier 2 visa sponsorship.
• At least 4 years experience post qualification
• Have experience of telephone triage
• Have at least one year experience at band 6 or equivalent in Emergency Department, Urgent Care or 111
• Experience and confidence working with a high degree of autonomy and independence
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Excellent IT and keyboard skills
• Passion and commitment to providing outstanding patient care
• Commitment to continuous professional development within a well-supported and well-structured team

Desirable:

• Experience working in the private sector.
• Experience consulting in primary care
