This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated, and experienced healthcare assistant who has a passion for improving complex leg wounds. There are 5 Complex Leg clinics around Gloucestershire, and as this is a peripatetic role, you could be asked to work at any of these clinics, so the ability to travel is required. You will be joining a supportive and motivated team, committed to providing high standards of specialist care.

You will be working as a member of the Complex Leg Wound Service, supporting the clinic caseload leads in the delivery of direct patient care. You will be given any necessary training needed, through formal teaching and gaining practical skills in clinic working with an experienced nurse.

You will be working in a supportive team committed to high standards of patient care. Clinical support will be provided by Complex Leg Specialist Nurses and the Professional Lead. Development within the role is encouraged.

As a Health Care Assistant/ Support Worker you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care / services to patients and service users as part of a Mental Health and Social Care Health Service. Health Care Assistant, Social Care Workers and other Healthcare Support Workers employed by the Trust are required to follow the guidance set out in Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants/ Health Care Support Workers to provide safe and compassionate care of a high standard, and to challenge others who are not.

You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice / training on a regular basis and be required to meet the Care Certificate standards. All successful applicants will also have the opportunity to discuss the prospect of undertaking a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship alongside their substantive post. This apprenticeship would include the Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.
