The Greater Manchester Shared Service (GMSS) is an exciting partnership between Trafford Council and Greater Manchester Police. Based at Trafford Town Hall, our aim is to provide a first class, professional, HR and payroll shared service for around 20,000 employees and customers across both organisations.
We are looking for an individual seeking a new and exciting challenge and an opportunity to support the service centre based at Trafford Town Hall. You will need to be a self-motivated individual who is able to work in a fast paced customer focused environment and have a passion for shared service delivery.
You will provide HR, payroll and pension advice and guidance to customers from a number of organisations that delivers resolution at first point of contact effectively over the phone and in writing. You will be responsible for the day to day management of inbound enquiries and instructions from managers and individuals ensuring that customer expectations of performance and value are met.

As well as being customer focused, you will have the ability to organise and prioritise your work in order to meet tight deadlines. You will be able to maintain accuracy and have excellent attention to detail, whilst handling high volumes of work. Excellent IT literacy is essential. A working knowledge of modern computer systems, preferably within a HR or payroll environment, is desirable.
Any appointment made to this role will be subject to the appointable candidate being vetted under Greater Manchester Police clearance processes and a criteria of vetting is UK residency for the last 3 years.
