Role Objectives:

This position is responsible for oversight of day-to-day Human Resources functions for the Company of 20+ employees, including providing guidance and advice to employees and managers regarding policy, procedure, HR issues, benefits, and other miscellaneous items. Major areas of focus are employee relations, employee engagement, talent acquisition and retention, talent lifecycle management and employee communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle recruitment including job postings, requisition management, screening, referral to hiring manager and onboarding
  • Oversee and manage benefit enrollment and payroll process; support annual benefit renewal and manage payroll approvals
  • Participate in college and other recruiting activities and career fairs to attract and hire qualified candidates
  • Support executives and managers in developing and delivering Performance Development and Improvement Plans and progressive discipline
  • Manage HRIS system data and ensure employee onboarding is completed; maintain employee information reports and data
  • Lead performance management process, including discipline and terminations and provide guidance to managers
  • Monitor federal, state and local laws, including wage and hour, to ensure compliance across company and states
  • Identify training needs and secure or develop/deliver appropriate training
  • Respond to state unemployment inquiries, employment verifications, and leave claims
  • Create and maintain job descriptions; benchmark compensation; manage pay increases
  • Create, document, and implement HR processes as appropriate
  • Serve as primary resource for employee questions on Company policy and procedure and for managers/supervisors to consult with on HR issues
  • Perform exit interviews and provide findings to executive team
  • Investigate or escalate HR issues, as needed
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Excellent Microsoft Office experience
  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies, procedures, compliance and practices and experience in developing, executing and maintaining HR projects and programs, including benefits, payroll, and onboard/offboard
  • Ability to prepare and disseminate company communications
  • HRIS systems

Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication & interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, self-directed and take initiative to identify and anticipate needs and make recommendations
  • Able to handle multiple tasks, flexible with changing priorities
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment and extra hours to meet deadlines/job requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of HR experience in an established HR department
  • Multi-state experience preferred
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification preferred
  • Experience implementing HR policies, procedures and process improvement

Physical Requirements:

  • Worker will exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and up to 5 pounds of force frequently
  • Requires repetitive motion, hearing, talking, grasping and sitting
  • Close visual acuity to perform activities like preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
  • Worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions as work is performed in an office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
