About the role:

This is a role for a curious, experienced forwarding thinking People Professional who thinks ‘beyond HR’ and who is also capable of rolling up their sleeves and ensuring operational efficiency, high quality and fair casework and pragmatic, business focused delivery.

The role is responsible for understanding the business needs and leading and coaching a team of 6 professional advisors. The role will interface regularly with senior line management and the FDM Executive Directors as well as our consultant population and internal employees. With a strong focus on data and people analytics, the People and Culture Manager will be evidence-based in proactively ensuring that we are optimising all teams and individuals’ contributions with a growth mindset and meeting our regulatory requirements whilst focusing on building and supporting a joyful and healthy working experience. The role is integral to FDM’s commercial agenda, continuously contributing towards Company performance and client and employee expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with Wider People Team, setting an ambitious agenda for developing and growing the contribution and value-add 6 People and Culture Advisors, through proactive business focused interventions and support
  • Supporting employees and managers with priorities, operational requirements, and casework
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the organisation
  • Developing and growing an innovative and business focused, world class people function
  • Building data reporting, research and evidence-based people analytics into regular practice in the organisation
  • Ensuring our policies and procedures reduce risk and respond to market requirements, changes and best practice representing business need and employee interest
  • Ensuring an unwavering focus and attention to Diversity and Inclusion as a ‘golden thread’ through all our initiatives, policies and activities
  • Representing strong professional partnership to the business, building trust, confidence and support in our professional practice and expertise
  • Working closely with the People Team Expert Services to develop and deliver people related corporate growth, change and initiatives
  • With expertise in strategic resourcing, support FDM colleagues with Clients as appropriate in explaining and showcasing the FDM model

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience as a People Professional in a variety of roles including a sound understanding and practice of the employee life cycle, employment law and operational people process
  • CIPD Level 7 qualified
  • Strong collaboration and teamworking skills
  • Proven leadership capability to build, grow and develop a high performing team
  • Demonstrated experience of effective change management with a delivery focus
  • Growth mindset – as related to self and others
