Job description
Do you want to protect the lives, livelihoods, and environment of communities across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly? By joining our Area Incident Management Team you’ll be at the heart of this work, helping us to plan and prepare for, and respond to, recover from, and review flood, environmental and business continuity incidents.
You’ll support a range of emergency planning and preparation activities, including maintaining our Area Incident Rooms, incident systems and documentation, and helping to roll out changes and improvements to the way we do things. You’ll look after at least one of our incident roles, recruiting, supporting, and training role holders, ensuring they are capable and confident to respond to incidents.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. During incidents you’ll carry out rostering, information sharing and reporting activities, or provide business continuity support to allow others to respond. The unpredictable nature of this work means you’ll need to be comfortable re-prioritising and picking up unplanned incident response work at short notice. Some incident response work may attract an additional payment, and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
