Insurance Desk Surveyor – Salary of up to £38,450
Home based ( 2 weeks in Perth for initial training)
Aviva are looking for an experienced Desk Surveyor to provide a customer focused & cost-effective service by managing claims from instruction to completion as part of our Regional Desk Operations team.
Your role will involve undertaking desk (virtual) assessments of lower to mid complexity, focusing on claims suitable for the virtual assessment category with delegated authority of up to £10k (in line with leaders & independent oversight).
You will apply your extensive building pathology expertise to drive excellence in the claims validation and routing process by effectively scoping work (in line with policy cover) using a pricing schedule and defining a process (desktop or field based) using the agreed criteria and technical knowledge of the industry.
You will also be required to work flexible hours which may include evenings and weekends.

A bit about the job:
Working as an Insurance desk surveyor, you will demonstrate effective cost management on all claims, evidenced by control of cost/indemnity within policy, principles and standards as well virtually assess, validate & quantify all types of property claims in line with policy cover.
We would also be looking for you to report & estimate insurance related repairs & other consequential losses using current claims scoping & claims tracking software.
We would expect you to manage work in progress and update claims systems/digital hubs to manage workflow & maintain real-time view for customers & business and Set correct expectations and next steps with customers/brokers throughout claim cycle.
Skills & Experience Required:

Ability to adapt to a working environment as per business requirements (other office locations, home, on site etc)

Good knowledge of the insurance industry related to home & commercial property

Technical knowledge & experience of repair work on occupied building premises

Ability to estimate building costs for repairs using defined schedules of rates or other quote building techniques

Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation including Asbestos regulations and access equipment restrictions

Commitment to building own knowledge, technical, theory and practical, through mentoring, undertaking courses and independent learning
Qualifications:

BDMA accreditation (preferred)

HNC/HND or similar Surveying Qualification (preferred)

Accreditation to CII, CIOB, CILA, RICS (desirable)
