Vanguard’s Global Investment Data Management team has an Investment Data Specialist opportunity open in London. To enable data driven decision making and oversight, we'll rely on your expertise to provide investment data management support to front, middle and back-office teams, and other enterprise data clients and internal partners. You will also serve as the point of contact for investment data related inquires and partner with internal teams to ensure the integrity of our investment data. You will have oversight of and complete operational activities to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.

In this role, you will:

• Develop a deep knowledge of data sets for a given business area, data storage systems, and the operational processes being supported. Serve as the point of contact for data inquiries.

• Provide oversight of operational activities and reviews data flows across systems for accuracy and completeness. Perform root cause analyses of data errors. Find opportunities to eliminate future occurrences and recommends short and long-term solutions for issues. Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution.

• Recommend changes that will enhance workflows and procedures. Integrate new or existing technologies into workflows and communicate to all team members. Analyze impacts and prepare environment for change.

• Work with internal partners to define data requirements, develop project specifications, and complete data projects to ensure that the expected outputs are delivered. Provide validation and approval of project deliverables.

• Work with internal and external partners, external vendors, and industry contacts to enable outstanding data management practices. Support the research and development of new business products and services.

• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

• Strong analytical ability capabilities, research, problem solving, and time management skills required.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.

• Excellent judgment and ability to analyze issues quickly.

• Strong, proven problem identification, analysis, and resolution skills.

• Advanced knowledge and skills using current versions of the Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of AWS, Python and SQL is a significant plus.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to provide internal clients with critical deliverables in a timely manner.

Future of Work

During the pandemic, we transitioned to a work from home model for the majority of our crew and we continue to interview, hire, and on-board future crew remotely.
