Drivers are at the heart of our transport operation and providing first class training to our colleagues is essential to our success. We are passionate and committed to creating a best in class driving academy to create the next generation of LGV drivers and to provide in-house training to the highest level. We are looking to recruit a LGV Delegated Assessor to be the sign off and Examiner for our academy drivers.
About the role
The Delegated Examiner will be responsible for conducting LGV driving tests, in line with DVSA standards, for new colleagues and mentoring and coaching existing colleagues, where necessary. You will be testing learners to ensure a demonstrable knowledge of the Highway Code, vehicle safety and vehicle operations whilst adhering to the standard of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and providing assistance to the wider Transport team regarding LGV standards and and instruction techniques.
You will remain abreast of all commercial and legislative changes to vehicles, testing requirements and equal opportunities and advise of any changes needed to current Company procedures. By assisting with the Driving Quality Monitoring processes and identifying and communicating on trends, you will be required to make recommendations on improving driving standards and deliver classroom modules in areas of driving standards.
About you
A DVSA delegated driving examiner’s qualification and experience as a Driving Examiner is essential for this role, with the potential to demonstrate the coaching and mentoring of LGV (CAT C & C+E Category) tests and assessments.
You should have experience of work as a LGV driving instructor or trainer within the last 5 years and have an understanding of proposed legislative changes in the UK and EU which will influence the standards required by TfL, DVSA, DVLA, City & Guilds and JAUPT.
A strong team player and excellent communicator is essential, you will be working with a number of stakeholders across the business.
