Our in-house Driving Academy is committed to providing a first class training experience. Drivers are at the heart of our transport operation and providing the highest level of training and development to them is key to our continued success.

We are looking for a strong and positive LGV Instructor who will drive the quality and delivery of the training and development programmes within the Transport Team.

As an LGV Instructor, you will be responsible for tutoring trainee drivers to gain their LGV C+E licence, by educating on safe driving techniques, skills and examination preparation. Reporting to the Transport Training Manager, and working closely with the Delegated Examiner, you will monitor the trainee’s progress and adapt teaching plans to ensure successful final assessment.

The LGV instructor will support the Recruitment plan by setting appropriate training requirements and delivering first class, consistent coaching.

By keeping Health & Safety at the heart of everything you do, you will follow Next company policies and procedures to maintain best practice at all times. You will be responsible for ensuring the standard of working equipment and PPE in line with training provided.

About you

You will be a fully qualified driving instructor with a clean LGV C+E licence and a minimum of 5 years driving experience. You will have experience in driver training/ instructing and a fast paced distribution or logistics environment.

As an Instructor, you will display excellent verbal and written communication skills with key stakeholders, managers, learners and subject matter experts to ensure training is delivered to a high standard.

You will be a competent PC user with excellent organisational and analytical skills, who is able to work well under pressure.

This role requires the candidate to have a flexible approach as UK wide travel may be required.
