Logistics Specialist

Salary: $18-$22.00/Hr

Requirements:

• Requires a high school diploma or GED with at least 1-4 years of related experience
• The candidate must have a valid driver license.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident to support specific government programs and projects.
• Has knowledge of commonly-used practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• MS Office - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint knowledge helpful.
• Must be fully vaccinated

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the organization's daily logistical operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and distribution.
• Organizes warehousing for goods.
• Reviews inventory to ensure that product adjustments are properly applied.
• Plans and schedules inbound and outbound shipments to internal or external customers based on needs.
• Acts as liaison between customers, freight carriers, and the shipping department.
• Ensures on-time delivery of goods to customers, by investigating and resolving detention issues.
• Assists in cost control by evaluating shipments, consolidating loads, and selecting the most cost-efficient method of shipment within Department of Defense guidelines.
• Performs inventory counts, storage and retrieval of material, computer data entry, and special projects as assigned.
• Utilizes hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts to move material within the storage facility.
• May coordinate with other property management personnel, material control, production, and engineering.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
