Pepsi Northwest Beverages, LLC is an independent company guided by a board of Directors. The organization grew out of a co-op of small businesses that needed an efficient way to scale their beverage production. In 2006, they joined together to form the LLC joint venture, and made an agreement with PepsiCo, Inc. – one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world – to have access to Pepsi’s best manufacturing systems. The agreement brought along a consolidation of production plants in Oregon and Washington, centralizing the region’s manufacturing of PepsiCo’s beverages.

PNB operates one of the largest beverage innovation production plants in the nation, right here in Thurston County, WA. Producing a variety of complex drinks – including soft drinks, Gatorade products, Bubly, Aquafina, iced teas, and Rockstar – additionally, PNB operates a comprehensive Transport operation in the North West, driving annually over 1.7 million miles and climbing. Travelling around the clock to deliver these products and raw materials along the I-5 corridor and as far East as Wenatchee. Fleet Safety is engrained into the PNB culture. We are looking for a high energy and experienced Maintenance Supervisor (L6) to join our dynamic team. This role would be responsible for directing the maintenance team to meet manufacturing needs and achieve standards related to safety, quality, cost, line efficiencies, waste and productivity. We are big on our supporting our people, so this individual must be good working within a team environment and impacting our culture in a positive way. The selected candidate must be able and available to work any shift as well as daily and weekend overtime as necessary. Primary shift will be swing shift.

Responsibilities

  • Adequately ensure maintenance is staffed, managed, and fully trained; assist with building people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for both management and front-line hourly personnel
  • Improve and promote a proactive safety-first culture to support employees and operations by identifying and correcting all unsafe practices and working conditions
  • Instruct and train all maintenance personnel in proper safety procedures and regulations
  • Assures equipment reliability to maximize production line productivity
  • Implements process enhancements to improve package and flavor changeover efficiency
  • Utilizes visual factory concepts to maximize asset utilization and plant performance
  • Lead process improvement teams and initiatives (TPM, PM, BDA)
  • Assists with tracking standard manufacturing and warehouse measures and prioritizes plant maintenance opportunities
  • Upgrade areas with new equipment/technology; work with outside contractors as needed
  • Responsible for accurately forecasting and delivering plan; complete weekly cost reports and review and approve FL payroll

Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 18 years or older
  • 4-year college degree preferred
  • 5+ years maintenance experience preferred, food maintenance experience a plus
  • 2-5 years supervisory experience required
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to set a vision, manage change, develop others and strategically plan
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong process improvement skills (ability to develop and implement processes)
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns. For example, pinpointing and repairing problems associated with high speed manufacturing line breakdowns.
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems required. For example, understanding high-pressure cylinders, pumps, or valves and reading schematics and using for troubleshooting in high-speed manufacturing.
  • Experience working with pneumatics required. For example, working with solenoids, cylinders, or motor brakes and reading schematics and using for troubleshooting in high speed manufacturing.
  • Experience working with electrical systems required. For example, working with high voltage, installation, frequency drive experience, motor testing, troubleshooting, or panels in high speed manufacturing.
  • Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers – PLC required. For example, understanding instructions, editing documentation, and/or navigation for A-B PLC-5 and A-B SLC-500 SLC5000.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance required. For example, conducting computerized preventative maintenance check-ups or reading SPC charts and data.
  • Experience with line manufacturing support systems such as, ozone generation, line/lube delivery, chemical delivery, ingredient delivery, PH house.
  • Experience with conveyors and airveyors such as, air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed control/VFDs.
  • Experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment team-oriented, deadline driven, high performance demands, and fast paced preferred.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office
  • Must be able to continually work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 60 pounds, climb, stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend and kneel continually over a 10-12 hour period.
  • Must pass the pre-employment drug test and background check.
