Marketing Manager, Lexington Books
Job description
Rowman & Littlefield is seeking a Marketing Manager for its Lexington Books imprint, which publishes academic monographs in the social sciences and humanities. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for all marketing duties for Lexington Books including planning, producing, and tracking print and digital campaigns; conference-related tasks including pre-conference promotional outreach and coordinating with the Conventions team; and engaging with customers at academic and library conferences.
Responsibilities
- Planning, implementing, and tracking approx. 30 catalogs and brochures per year, including cost estimation and budget management for Lexington Books, Lexington’s copublishing partners, and Hamilton Books (a small custom publishing imprint)
- Researching and securing mailing lists
- Working closely with the Editorial and Creative Services teams on the strategy and creation of promotional materials
- Planning, creating, and implementing email and digital campaigns
- Attending editorial board meetings
- Monthly reporting on marketing activities
- Drafting annual direct mail budget
- Conference planning, including preconference promotions
- Attending several scholarly and library conferences annually
- Other duties as assigned
- B.A. or B.S. degree in marketing, communication, or related field
- Must have 5+ years of marketing experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work independently. Must be a self-starter.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize a large volume of projects
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Acrobat
- Travel – several trips per year within the US and Canada
