Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets.

Rugby Architectural Building Products is growing. We have an exciting opening for an individual to perform general millwork planer duties and/or rip saw duties. This position reports to the Mill Manager or the Branch Manager. Shift times are typically 7 am to 4 pm.

Who We Are Looking For:
- Passionate and experienced candidate with the ability to set-up, operate a planer and/or rip saw to mill hardwood and softwood lumber.
- An individual who will be high quality minded in all job functions.
- A motivated employee who can communicate with co-workers and managers.
- Individual able to work with fractions and understands basic math to mill lumber to specifications.
What You Will Do:
- The ability to safely operate planers, rip saws, and chop saws.
- Able to inspect lumber prior to milling to verify order.
- Able to verify alignment of work pieces on machines, using measuring instruments such as, but not limited to rules, gauges, or calipers.
- Mills lumber accurately, according to each corresponding customer order.
- Works with Quality Controller to ensure machine is producing an adequate product meeting industry standard quality.
- Works with Mill Manager or Supervisor on maintaining the machine to minimize down time.
- Complies with OSHA safety regulations when operating and maintaining machines.
- Responsible for cleaning work area at the end of each shift.
- Completes all other duties that may be assigned.
- The ability to train and certify on a powered industrial forklift.
- Assist in taking inventory as required on a regular basis.
- Work safely, attend safety meetings, and follow all safety procedures and policies.
- Be able to lift and carry products weighing 75-100 lbs. with helper as required.
- The employee will be required to work both inside and outside in extremes of cold, heat and humidity, depending on the season and location
- The functions of this position may be exposed to modest amounts of sawdust and noise.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of frequency and intensity in other physical activities such as reaching, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Must have good visual acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
This role is a Safety Sensitive position, subject to routine drug screening.
