Advanced Orthopedics New England is a growing healthcare practice based in the greater Hartford community with a strong commitment to providing excellent care and customer service to our patients. Our mission is to improve our patients’ lives by providing superior, compassionate orthopedic care in a comfortable private practice setting that exceeds expectations in quality and value. We are seeking an experienced PA with the ability to read x-rays, manage acute injuries, and provide high quality patient care.

We are a multi-subspecialty team of surgeons, physician assistants and administrative staff committed to providing high quality medical and surgical care to patients. We have five locations: Enfield, CT, Bloomfield, CT, Rocky Hill, CT, Vernon, CT and Springfield, MA. This team brings a group of 9 experienced surgeons and 7 advanced practice providers together to work towards the best possible outcome for their patients. This position is primarily in our Vernon Urgent Care location.

Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm; One weekend shift per month; One holiday shift per year

Responsibilities

• Staff our acute orthopedic walk-in clinics

• Evaluate, treat and triage patient as appropriate - reduce fractures, splint, cast and administer DME

• Ability to cross cover in any of our urgent care facilities

• Operate and prove competency in multiple applications such as EMR and ancillary products

• Communicate with orthopedic physicians regarding care plans

• Attend meetings, trainings as needed

• Demonstrate willingness to be flexible

• Commitment to growth and promotion of our urgent care facilities

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Self-motivated and accountable to manage/direct patient care regardless of magnitude of injury

• Solid time management and organizational skills to efficiently treat in a high-volume clinic

• Passionate in self-improvement for professional growth to meet the values of our practice and enhance our level of service

• Excellent communication skills to ensure all team members, patients and external parties are fully informed

• Strong written communication skills for chart documentation and interaction with team members

• Ability to provide knowledge transfer to other members of the team

• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of colleagues and employees

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

• License to perform medical care as a Physician’s Assistant or APRN in the State of Connecticut

• 2 years orthopedic experience (ED or urgent care experience preferred)
