Product Manager Boston, Massachusetts, United States, Full-Time

Manus Bio is a next-generation industrial biotechnology company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts that produces plant-based ingredients. We use a variety of patented and proprietary technologies to engineer microbes for the production of specialty chemicals, such as food ingredients, agricultural chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. We are seeking a highly motivated Product Manager to assist in creating buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners. This hands-on position requires a desire and ability to work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as the demonstration of a high degree of flexibility, creativity, and initiative applied to the various duties and aspects of the position.

Responsibilities:

• Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
• Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
• Develop product pricing and positioning strategies.
• Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
• Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
• Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources.
• Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members.
• Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.
• Act as a product subject matter expert to build awareness and understanding.
• Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven work experience in product manager or an associate product manager.
• Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
• Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
• Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
• Ability to quickly respond to new and challenging formulation projects.
• Excellent communication skills; both oral and written is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs are required.
• Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
• Ability to effectively interact vendors, contractors and other business contacts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in the food ingredients industry.
• BS or higher degree in a food science or related discipline
• Innovative mindset and a positive outlook towards finding solutions.
• Interest and general knowledge of the food and beverage marketplace and ingredient marketplace
• Working knowledge of natural sweeteners and flavors
