About the Division:
The Division of Credit Unions (DCU) examines and supervises approximately 50 state-chartered credit unions for safety and soundness and compliance with applicable credit union laws in order to protect members’ financial interests. Although these credit unions are our customers, the citizens are the ultimate beneficiaries of DCU’s work. DCU is comprised of approximately 25 staff members who work together with a team approach to examine and analyze state-chartered credit unions.
About the Position:
This position is an integral part of the division and provide critical support by coordinating various examination activities and distributing examination reports. This position has primary responsibility for the review of consumer complaints against 50 Washington state-chartered credit unions, which includes evaluating and conducting research regarding various consumer protection laws and resolves 200+ complaints about credit unions annually.

Some of What You Will Do:
Investigate consumer complaints by conducting research on consumer protection laws, assist in resolving issues, and provide direct customer service. Compose letters to complainants explaining resolution of the complaint.- Provide support for all aspects of safety and soundness exams of 50 credit unions, including requesting information in advance of exams, sending final exam reports, setting up secure portal for exam information and sending post exam surveys.
- Coordinate procurement of equipment, training/conferences and office supplies.
- Schedules travel for 25 division staff. Prepares travel reimbursements.

- Ability to interpret a range of state and federal laws and regulations.
- Excellent written skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and influence others.
- Advanced level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
Duty Station and Travel Requirements:
A hybrid work schedule is available with two remote days and three in office days in the Tumwater Headquarters Building. A flex schedule is also available with every other Friday (or Monday) off.
