Role Summary:
Role Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for the administrative and technical aspects for utility scale renewable generation developments across the US. Must be able to work in the United States without employer support or sponsorship.
Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts for preliminary design of new renewable developments with a focus on solar and battery storage.
- Gain subject matter expertise on latest trends and technology in the solar and battery storage markets and effectively share internally.
- Support siting and permitting work.
- Create and manage project schedule.
- Support the electric interconnection process.
- Assist on technical efforts for the procurement of services and equipment including writing bid documents and specifications, evaluating bids received, supporting contract negotiations, and reviewing contract deliverables (drawings, reports, calculations, etc.)
- Coordinate with various consultants.
- Non -remote position. Candidate must able to come into the Buffalo Grove, IL. office M-F, 8am - 5pm.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Professional Engineers License a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the power industry preferably with an independent power developer or a consulting engineering firm.
- Knowledge of renewable energy generation is a plus.
- Experience with CAD software, preferably related to preparing site layouts.
- Experience with PVSyst or other solar production models.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Microsoft Project.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Strong work ethic and motivation for professional growth.
- Some travel required.
- Must be able to work in the United States without employer support or sponsorship.
