Position Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for working closely with the VP – Projects on developing, estimating, and securing projects, managing all aspects of the contractual relationship for projects, and assisting in the coordination of the execution of work with the Project Implementation team.

This position requires clear and consistent written and verbal communication with internal and external resources. Additionally, the role requires significant accessibility, accountability, and organization to ensure that all Project related documentation is up to date and readily available at all times.

How you will contribute:

• Assist with Bidding / Proposals
• Monitor state DOT communications and industry news for upcoming bids and project opportunities
• Support the VP – Projects with maintaining private-sector relationships to identify and bid on private-sector project opportunities
• Review project plans, conduct site visits, and seek additional clarification from appropriate sources as necessary for bid preparation and submission of proposals
• Assist in preparation of accurate proposals via a digital estimating tool, to be delivered in a timely manner with a professional appearance
• Assist with maintenance and organization of complete and accurate records of the entire process for each bid / proposal and a comprehensive summary report
• Provide support in the creation of a detailed Project Plan for every project, including target schedule, daily implementation plan (locations, load list, equipment, crew composition), pre-implementation documentation requirements, and a summary of material and equipment requirements, designed to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction in a cost-effective manner
• Verify project layout from contract plans, checking shop drawings against layouts
• Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and schedule
• Track and report all current project statuses, schedules, and budgets on a regular basis
• Attend and support VPs in weekly meetings with Management to communicate upcoming bids, newly secured work, and scheduled work for the upcoming week
• Report actual project performance versus proposal/planned performance for active and completed jobs
• Assist with maintenance of the shared digital company calendar, updated daily, with current Project schedules

Qualifications for success:

• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role (preferably a project superintendent for a guardrail installation, highway construction or paving company)
• Engineering and/or project management background is preferred. Familiarity with reading plans.
• Basic understanding of road construction processes and order of operations
• Self-starter with sound judgment, positive attitude, initiative, and the ability to adapt to changing work environment
• Highly organized with familiarity and comfort with an increasingly digital and technology-oriented workplace
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing

Required Certificates/Licenses (can be achieved within first 3 months of employment):

• OSHA 10 card – received for completion of Construction Course
• Traffic Control Technician and Traffic Control Supervisor certifications to assist drafting traffic control plans

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
