- The position will oversee and provide direction for the Business Office, which includes registration, coding, and billing functions to ensure complete and proper billing are rendered to provide optimal reimbursement to Voyage Healthcare.
- Develops, evaluates, and implements processes, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and achieve optimal performance in the business operations
- Implements new processes and protocols as these become necessary and assigned
- Analyzes, understands, interprets, and communicates key revenue cycle and productivity data to determine current performance and identify areas needing improvement
- Analyzes practice fees on an annual basis and makes rate recommendations to ensure appropriate income/cash flow
- Participates on various committees to provide input from a Business Office perspective
- Conducts reimbursement monitoring for individual insurance carriers
- Develops communication materials for providers and staff to explain new regulatory requirements, process changes, etc.
- Conducts training presentations for providers and staff as necessary
- Collaborates with Voyage Healthcare’s management team and Administration on various clinical initiatives and improvement projects
- Understands information systems used within the Clinic related to coding and billing and assists with interfaces, set up, and maintenance of such systems (e.g., eCW, Harvest).
- Manages and analyzes Accounts Receivable reporting
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Full COVID-19 vaccination required
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree preferred but not required (preferably in health care administration)
- Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a physician practice
- Management or supervisory experience required and to include interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, coaching and disciplinary experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and products
- Strong knowledge base regarding insurance policies and EOB/COB data
- Must be current regarding industry standards and benchmarks
- Knowledge of eClinicalWorks (eCW) and Electronic Medical Records is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks
