PO4: Starting salary £ 45,711 pa rising in annual increments to £48,747 pa

Lambeth Council is a progressive borough when it comes to Active Travel and there is a lot more work to be done. We are looking for a passionate and articulate person to manage the School Streets programme. This will involve project managing the implementation of all suitable School Streets in the borough. The manager will work with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure smooth project delivery. They will work with the team to consult on the views of residents and the school communities. Existing School Streets will be supported, and successes celebrated. The person appointed will be highly organised, able to work flexibly, be customer focused and adept at meeting demanding deadlines in pressurised circumstances, possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and excellent IT skills. There may be the occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends of work to ensure that the programme is successfully implemented.
The postholder will work closely with the Active Travel Manager and take an active role in devising and delivering the School Streets programme . The postholder will be in charge of all things School Streets at Lambeth.
Based in the Active Travel team, the postholder will also support the council in achieving its environmental and air quality objectives and working on the Climate Action Plan. The successful candidate will have a good and wide knowledge of active travel initiatives, transport policies and have a keen interest in active travel.
