Our Multifamily company is growing, and we are actively seeking qualified Senior Property Accountants. The ideal candidate is smart, detail-oriented, and works well both independently and with a team. The role serves as the main point of contact for the financial related needs for a group of properties within the Corcoran Jennison portfolio providing support to the Regional and Property Managers located at the communities. As the primary financial resource, the Senior Property Accountant provides customer service both internally and externally. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for the preparation of the monthly financial statements including all supporting schedules. This includes bank reconciliations, calculation and posting of prepaid expenses, project/capital expenditures, fixed assets, recording inter-company entries with a thorough understanding their relationships to other entities, recording of accrued expenses, debt and escrow activity, and owners’ equity balances. Perform analysis and review of Balance Sheet and Income Statement. Provide revenue and expense variance explanation to property management.

· Work with Accounts Payable, Legal, Tax, Risk Management and Compliance departments to obtain necessary information for the completion of financial statements. Provide analysis or related schedules in accordance with lender and/or third-party requirements. Prepare and support insurance claim submissions.

· Responsible for the preparation of the annual audit financials and workpaper packages; interface with external auditors in planning interim and year-end audit process, review their draft audited financial statements and footnote disclosures. Distribute audited financials to lenders, partners, and pertinent agencies.

· Collaborate with property management assisting in the preparation of portfolio annual budgets and reforecasts. Provide ad-hoc analysis and troubleshooting of matters as they arise.

· Engage in departmental projects and initiatives related to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and implementing new procedures. Actively participate in systems implementation of the paperless A/P, electronic uploads from financial institutions, and standardization of monthly reporting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

· Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

· Minimum of 3 years of related experience; commercial real estate industry experience preferred.

· Experience with accounting software; demonstrable proficiency with advanced Excel functions, understanding of CSV file import/export functionality.

· Strong written and verbal skills; able to communicate in a clear and concise way

Pay: Starting at $90,000, compensation commensurate with experience

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
