Responsibilities:
- Greet and communicate with customers and initiate service write up for repairs.
- Accurately take customer information and record the customer’s requests.
- Coordinate and team with the Shop Manager, Estimator/Repair Consultant and Lead Technicians to effectively communicate and complete customer repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with service leadership.
- Communicate with the customer/driver on estimates and the status of repair as often as required to ensure customer is informed of repair status. Keep accurate notes of customer interactions and approvals.
- Open and close repair orders, enter other work needed, check for initial warranty coverage, and use system tools to maintain service records.
- Evaluate information regarding current repairs and advise customer if other work is needed or advisable.
- Focus on and insure accuracy of all data and codes going into system.
- Collect purchase order information, warranty information and/or customer payment and handle confidential financial information in accordance with company policy.
- Use good judgment to maintain a safe and organized work environment, in accordance with company procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining customer relationships on an ongoing basis – customer visits, tours, check-ins, etc.
- Other duties assigned as business needs require.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous Service Advisory experience preferred and/or one year or more related experience in a repair facility. Technical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles highly preferred by not required. Previous customer service experience required.
Skills: Must be professional and safety minded at all times. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as active listening skills. Exceptional customer service, time management and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Able to work with minimal supervision and direction. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Job Conditions
Physical: (These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.) Requires sitting, standing, keyboard and tablet usage, walking, talking, and fine motor skills. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Climbing into and around heavy-duty vehicles. Extensive use of telephone and computer programs.
Environmental: Indoors with occasional outdoor duties. Occasional transport of documents between buildings in seasonal weather conditions. Some noise while visiting other departments.
Hours: Tues-Fri, 9am-5:30pm and Sat 8am-5pm
