Job description

The primary purpose of the Shuttle/Switcher Driver is to support the production lines and warehouse facility to keep production running efficiently. Through communication, and following a production schedule, he/she will need to prioritize and maintain empty trailers at the docks to support 5 production lines and 3 outside warehouses. Requires moving an average of 50 trailers per shift.

Accountabilities:

· Provide production lines with raw materials.

· Provide production lines with empty pallets.

· Provide empty trailers to warehouses for pre-loads.

· Shuttle finished product to the appropriate warehouse.

· Remove unloaded trailers from warehouse dock doors.

· Conduct switcher and trailer inspections.

· Chock all trailers spotted.

· Communicate via radio with production line drivers and warehouse personnel.

Qualification

· Understand, speak, read, and write English.

· Current Class A CDL.

· Backing-in proficiency.

· Minimum 1 year driving experience.

Key Position Competencies:

· Ability to manage multiple tasks in fast paced environment.

· Ability to work some 12 hour shifts / weekends / holidays.

· Ability to work & communicate with other departments.
