About The Role
As a Business Administrator Team Lead you will be managing a small team working in a Vetting & Compliance role within our People Operations Team. You will be responsible for the pre-employment screenings of new starters and managing our internal vetting requirements. You will work closely with our Recruitment and Academy Teams providing regular updates and ensuring that vetting is completed accurately in line with our requirements. You will build and maintain relationships with our screening vendor to improve productivity and monitor SLAs. This will be a high-volume administrative role with a particular focus on compliance. Therefore, we will require a high level of efficiency, attention to detail and organisation, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out vetting checks for new starters in line with company standards within specified timescales
- Efficiently managing a caseload of vetting requests in line with our requirements whilst meeting tight deadlines
- Effectively communicating with and reporting to relevant internal and external stakeholders throughout the vetting process
- Maintaining and building relationships with our external screening vendor to enhance productivity and SLA’s
- Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with the Recruitment and Academy Teams, ensuring any vetting issues are appropriately escalated and responded too
- Ensuring the accuracy of vetting data in our people systems and on our vetting trackers
- Ensuring compliance by managing and completing audits in a timely manner
- Reporting information to CIFAS in line with membership terms
- Accurately managing and maintaining confidential records
- Supporting the wider People Team Operations Team on an ad hoc basis
About You
- Experience of leading and managing small teams
- Competence with MS Office applications
- Ability to gain key information through effective questioning
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Works well within team and the wider business
- Able to work autonomously but ask questions and request support when required
- Effective organisation skills with ability to prioritise
- Works well in a high volume environment
- Able to review processes and make improvements where necessary
Desirable but not essential:
- 2-5 year of administrative experience
- Experience conducting pre-employment screening
- Previous experience using 3rd party vetting software
