Job description

For the Spring 2023 semester, we’re seeking enthusiastic English and writing teachers with elementary school, middle school, and high school experience to teach remotely and in person for our weekday evening and Sunday afternoon classes. Teachers should be comfortable with leading virtual and in-person classes. Our academic-year teachers are given first consideration for our virtual summer camp teaching opportunities.

Our academic-year classes are held via Zoom on weekday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Our English and writing classes focus on grammar, reading comprehension, and writing instruction, with weekly writing assignments that take students through the writing process of brainstorming, drafting, revising, and proofreading. Teachers are expected to attend trainings.

Classes range in size from 4–12 students. Teachers are expected to familiarize themselves with our curriculum materials, prep for each week’s lessons ahead of time, and provide written feedback on essay assignments.

Requirements

• 1+ years of teaching or classroom experience
• College degree required
• Experience with elementary school, middle school, or high school students

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
