Job Title: Warehouse Manager
Hours : Monday to Friday 45 hours per week inclusive of one hour lunch
Salary : Circa £45,000 per annum

Purpose of Job

  • To ensure the efficient and the effective performance of the Warehouse department in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • To ensure the company complies with current health and safety legislation approved codes of practice and guidance in all activities.
  • To work proactively with managers to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the organisation
  • To provide direct management and leadership of the Health and Safety Team

Main Duties

  • Analysing data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
  • Allocating and managing staff resources according to changing needs.
  • To help ensure the company’s Health and Safety Policy is implemented consistently across the company.
  • Monitoring staff training issues and motivating members of the Logistics Team
  • To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice with guidence from the Group H&S Manager.
  • Make recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required.
  • To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required.
  • Working with the Group H&S Manager to advise the Board and senior management team on the implications of current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating actions plans to ensure compliance across the company.
  • To support managers to maintain safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support.
  • To accommodate audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems and procedures and identify and implement improvements.
  • To ensure routine health and safety activities and checks are carried out e.g. testing of portable electrical appliances and the review of risk assessments.
  • To investigate, or where appropriate, to assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence.
  • Take action to mitigate the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks.
  • Working with the Group H&S Manager to help prepare regular reports on health and safety activity for presentation to staff, senior managers and the board of directors.
