DESCRIPTION
Under direction from the Waterfront Business Manager, ensures operations are running smoothly for Waterfront Parking Services. Select, supervise, schedule, train, assign and review the work of staff. Oversee and participate in all work activities and perform a variety of technical tasks, including traffic control, relative to Waterfront Parking services. Recommend and assist in the implementation of policies / procedures, goals and objectives. Identify and review resource needs with management staff. Oversee wharf kiosk operations. Conduct field inspections , monitor / participate in the maintenance and repair needs of various parking office equipment. Maintain accurate records of operations schedules, compute time cards. Respond to / investigate public inquiries and complaints; provide information and assistance. Handle emergency calls, contact appropriate emergency personnel as needed. Supervise ticket collections, audits, and computer operations for all lots; monitor parking revenues and develop controls to ensure all parking revenues are collected and turned in. Participate in the preparation and administration of assigned budget and statistical reports on operations and activities. Maintain an inventory of supplies; research cost estimates; requisition and distribute supplies as needed; prepare bills, receipts, permits, transaction records, and purchase orders. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Provides exemplary customer service to all individuals by demonstrating a willingness to be attentive, understanding, responsive, fair, courteous and respectful, and to actively participate in maintaining a positive customer service environment.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Knowledge of: Operations, services and activities of a waterfront parking lot program. Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation. Basic principles and practices of waterfront parking lot administration. Basic principles of bookkeeping. Maintenance requirements of waterfront parking lots. Landscape maintenance practices as it pertains to waterfront parking lots. Computerized parking equipment functions. Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment. Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation. Principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting. Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.
Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible experience in parking lot administration, including one year of supervisory or lead responsibility.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in business or a related field.
License Requirements: Applicant may be required to possess a valid California driver's license at time of appointment.
Physical Standards: Position requires field and office work; driving, walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time; and operating assigned equipment.
Job Conditions: Position may involve minor disagreeable conditions and may be exposed to vehicle exhaust fumes, paint vapors, equipment noise and parking lot traffic.
