Database Administrator

I am working with a Microsoft Gold Partner Consultancy and managed service provider who are looking for a Database Administrator to join their team. The organisation delivers specialist services to its clients and deliver a fully integrated range of cloud and datacentre services. This organisation currently has a strong team of SQL Server DBAs but are now looking to grow their MySQL function and are looking to speak to experienced and junior candidates with drive and motivation to join the team.


As part of this role, you will be responsible for some of the following areas

• Provide MySQL Server expertise to clients
• Assist with the design, operation and maintenance of data tiers
• Ensure the performance, security and availability of organisation of databases
• Manage common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery and migration with MySQL Server
• Provide MySQL Server expertise as well as incident and request resolution for a wide range of clients
• Work with a broad and expanding range of database technologies, including working within an Azure cloud environment

This is a salaried role paying up to �55,000 per annum depending on experience. The role is a hybrid opportunity with up to 3 days working out of the organisations central London office. There is also a company benefits package on offer which includes holiday allowance and company pension scheme alongside others benefits. For this role there is an on call rota to cover evening and weekends with significant allowances on offer to cover this.


To be successful in the role you will have

• Proficiency in MySQL database management
• Knowledge of standards and best practices in MySQL
• Ability to write SQL statements
• Familiarity of Azure technologies would be beneficial
• Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages
