Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Branch Manager to join our South Bend team! The Branch Manager plans, directs, and coordinates actiivities through subordinate personnel to obtain optimum use of products, services, facilities, equipment, and personnel of the dealership. Manages and motivates operational personnel while directing and coordinating activities to manage and attain required goals and objectives through the implementation of business plans and financial controls. Reviews and analyzes expenditures, financials statistics, and operations reports to determine requirements for profitability growth, increasing market share, and maintaining positive relationships with customers and suppliers. Will maintain and develop a strong competitive organization through commitment and integrity while striving to exceed customer expectations and promoting the company image and products as a leader in the community and industry.

Responsibilities & Duties

Operations, Management, & Safety

  • Manage daily operations by planning and executing on short and long-term strategic goals and ensure annual business plans are developed and implemented.
  • Manage all dealership departments: New & Used Truck Sales, Leasing or Rental, Parts Sales, Service Repair, Body Shop Service, and Administration. Ensure that every department operates harmoniously and profitably.
  • Measure team member’s success on an ongoing basis and coach or take corrective action as necessary. Execute a consistent performance management process with employees including reviews and goal setting. Ensures that annual staff reviews are conducted on time and in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Review and approve compensation plans for all employees. Ensure that Department Managers are training and supervising employees for optimum effectiveness.
  • Recruit, motivate, mentor, and empower a high-performing team to achieve company goals. Adhere and enforce the company’s values and policies. Advance and support a culture of leadership, responsibility, accountability, continual improvement, and fun among all employees.
  • Participates in community programs, activities, and organizations, as well as in local, regional and/or state trade associations to enhance the image of the dealership/company and to network with other business/industry leaders.
  • Constant awareness of customer situations and general business climate in your territory.
  • Work with other branch locations of the company to develop best operating practices, inventory movement, and transfers.
  • Responsible for maintaining a neat and professional appearance to the facility.
  • Maintain OSHA and DOT compliance.
  • Act as New & Used Truck Sales Manager if applicable.
  • Contribute to the company’s overall success by performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Reports directly to VP.

Financial

  • Maintain strong financial oversight of all operations including revenues, expenses, profitability, and financial reporting. Evaluate and continually improve branch performance by analyzing and interpreting KPIs, data, and metrics.
  • Is attentive to industry trends and new opportunities for profitability that set the dealership apart from the competition.
  • Ensures processes are in place for achievement of financial services penetration and income goals as outlined in annual business plan.
  • Leads management team in creation of annual business plan. Coach, assist, & advise department managers on all aspects of their individual department business plan. Develop action plans for improvement of each department and dealership overall. Offers guidance to and seeks direction from department managers to develop a plan to overcome deficiencies in specific areas.
  • Monitor & ensure each department's monthly & yearly sales, gross profit, expense, and net profit goals are met or exceeded.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in medium and heavy-duty truck dealership operations and management is required.
  • Experience in the medium and heavy-duty truck industry may be considered in lieu of formal educational requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
