Decatur Complex Maintenance Program Manager
This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of people as a top priority while managing the performance of reliability and maintenance for a large multi-plant manufacturing complex in Central Illinois. The Decatur Complex consists of 6 processing plants, onsite cogeneration and water treatment facilities, and employs ~1500 Plant Operations Colleagues and an additional ~1000 Contractors. The Decatur Complex Maintenance Program Manager is a salaried exempt position, reporting to the Director of Operations, Decatur Complex.

This position requires a strategic, process driven thinker who will closely collaborate with Operations and Centers of Excellence (COE) Leaders to develop, communicate, and deliver success in a Complex wide R&M strategy and program. The strategy and program will provide standardization, efficiency improvements and consistency in R&M performance. This person will work to excel the engagement, preparedness and effectiveness of the Complex’s maintenance workforce and optimize the configuration of the sites accordingly.

The person in this role will have previous experience in other Operations positions and be an expert in R&M programs, standards and best practices. They must be flexible in a dynamic environment while utilizing data to prioritize focus. They will spend a significant amount of time in the field mentoring, providing support, and auditing practices and policies. They will display a commitment to, lead, participate and support safety engagement. They will support the team’s growth in training, capabilities and experiences through the use of development plans. They will ensure good team communication and alignment through regular performance and development conversations with colleagues and other leaders across the Complex.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, support and model a strong safety culture
  • Lead site R&M strategies
  • Drive a Cultural Transformation focused on skills training and development
  • Drive continuous improvement practices and methodologies
  • Define and drive R&M metrics and KPIs aligned to Decatur Complex Operational goals
  • Oversee related sitewide annual budget and long-term budgeting strategy
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Extensive collaboration with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to ensure Decatur sitewide practices are aligned to ADM Global standards

Required experience/qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineer or equivalent
  • 10+ years of plant maintenance experience including strong focus in mechanical and process safety programs
  • People leadership experience within multidisciplinary teams comprised of salaried and hourly colleagues
  • Experience leading and managing productivity of contractor resources
  • Experience managing/executing R&M capital projects in a manufacturing plant setting
