Job description
Seeking a well organized, calm yet cheerful individual that enjoys working with people from all walks of life. Interact with Drivers accurately and expertly directing them to pick up and drop off passengers to their Steamboat Springs or Hayden Airport destinations. Employee will train at the Steamboat Springs office location and occasionally travel by shuttle to the Hayden Airport location to fill in for other Dispatchers. Wage is negotiable depending on experience. Paid training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works to ensure that dispatch always runs smoothly and efficiently in coordination with the other dispatcher
- Gives each customer the best service possible, always striving to have drivers be on time for pick-ups.
- Always endeavors to coordinate runs to save time, gas, and money.
- Ensures that any critical information is passed on at shift changes (incidents, vehicle maintenance, held baggage, etc.).
- Makes a sincere effort to become familiar with the area and the city, enabling the Dispatcher to know approximate distances between locations and giving the Dispatcher the ability to answer questions about activities and the area in general.
- Handles any complaints in an expeditious, courteous, and professional manner either by handling the situation if possible or by informing upper management immediately.
- Answers telephones in a friendly and professional manner always.
- Makes a sincere effort to become familiar with the area and the city, enabling you to know approximate distances between locations to answer customer’s questions about activities and the area in general.
- Listens to customer needs and concerns in order to better serve the customer’s needs.
- Hours include weekdays, weekends, nights and holidays.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and learn dispatch, radio procedures, the computer reservation system, and demonstrate strong telephone skills techniques. Demonstrate good communication and people skills. Able to work long hours during the rush periods. Be a team player and have a willingness to learn GO Alpine's dispatch program and procedures in order to provide excellent customer service to our passengers. Paid training.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- High School diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent. At least one year of related work experience preferred.
- Work requires advanced computer literacy skills and keyboard proficiency to operate in multiple windows and manipulate files.
- Experience in intermediate to advanced skills in Google Docs and Google Sheets
- Strong organizational skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management and outside agencies and especially customers
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
