Family Preservation Interventionist -In Home Therapist Position Summary

WFS is currently looking for a full time Family Preservation Interventionist to provide In-Home Services. This position provides intensive home-based family interventions utilizing the structural/strategic model while procuring support services for families that are experiencing difficulties due to abuse, neglect, while struggling with behavioral and/or emotional issues. This mobile position offers a flexible weekly schedule, weekly supervision and all necessary equipment.

Family Preservation Interventionist -In Home Responsibilities and Duties (full description available at https://wfspa.org )

• Conducts initial intake and assessment to identify child and family strengths, protective factors and risks in child, adult, and family functioning.
• Displays sensitivity and humility to the family’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
• Identify and understand environmental stressors.
• Assist families to identify their strengths and coping mechanisms while working with them to resolve family conflicts to stabilize the family.
• Conduct individual and family sessions (utilizing family systems theory and techniques) to understand and address the family’s concerns and to support their desired change.
• Establish, implement, and maintain family treatment goals through a jointly created treatment plan.

Family Preservation Interventionist -In-Home Qualifications and Skills

Education:

Preferred: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Sociology, Family Systems or Psychology or related field.

Experience:

At least two years’ experience in a social service setting. (Experience can be in paid employment, internships, practicums or lived experience.)
