ZEELAND STREET is Hiring!

We are a well-known Baton Rouge restaurant that has been in business for 30+ years. We specialize in Southern Cuisine: Creole, Cajun, and Soul Foods.

Requirements:

- Have the ability to cook/prep/send out food items efficiently and flawlessly during high-volume times and be proactively productive during slow periods

- Patient and attentive when receiving instruction and able to stay positive under pressure

- Experience working in kitchens where food is made from scratch and/or made-to-order

- Experience working in catering kitchens is beneficial, but not required

While we work as a team, cooks should have skills for one or more of the roles below:

- Grill: Cooking eggs made to order, a variety of omelettes, chunked hashbrowns, and fluffy pancakes; Grilling burgers and chicken breasts; Assembling hot sandwiches; General proper grill use and maintenance

- Homestyle: From scratch preparation of several kinds of starches, vegetables, legumes, and salad dressings; Strong knife skills with hand and eye for attractive salad assembly; Cooking fish to order

- Meat: Slicing deli meats for sandwiches; Cutting down whole chuck to grind; Other processing of raw meat; Proper handling and maintenance of the deli slicer and meat grinder.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
