Your New Role

Survitec is looking for a Manufacturing Production Supervisor to join us in our Dunmurry site, where you will be joining an established team that manufactures safe, reliable, high quality survival technology and protective wear for a broad range of customer sectors and needs.

Your role will report to the Production Manager, and you will supervise the production teams that use a range of equipment and processes to manufacture, assemble, package, test and certificate a range of Survitec products.

What You Can Expect from the Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise production teams to meet production targets whilst working safely and delivering to quality standards
• Competent to operate and train others on the use of complex production machinery or systems, adjusting processes to optimise quality and productivity
• Develop resource plans to meet short- and medium-term delivery targets; manage and report performance to plan; make recommendations for use of overtime as needed to meet unforeseen spikes in demand
• Explain the local action plan to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done and how this relates to the broader business plan and Survitec’s strategy
• Help specialists set up and test new products or processes; prepare teams for new production methods or processes with guidance from production engineering colleagues
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems issues; manage emergency repair process and communications and ensure preventive maintenance inspections are carried out in a timely manner to minimise non-productive time
• Assign work schedules to team(s) of production operatives to meet production deadlines and standards
• Follow Survitec Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and mandatory instructions.
• Support implementation of quality assurance change initiatives and make continuous operational improvements
• Manage and report on team performance; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these
• Evaluate the capabilities of colleagues within the department

The Experience and Skills You Will Have

Essential Criteria

• 3+ years of general job-related experience
• Educated to high school level – 2 A- Levels or equivalent
• Good organisational skills and a good communicator
• Strong attention to detail

Desirable Criteria

• Factory experience
