Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) supports several lines of businesses that include Business Banking, Commercial Bank, Global Wealth Management, and Investment Bank.

Located in Chicago, the Bilateral Deal Setup & Funding Team, within WLS, is a high-volume production-based operations function responsible for booking & funding of new loans, renewals, and amendments/modifications for bilateral commercial loan products. The team also performs system maintenance transactions as art of loan restructures. Key loan accounting systems used within Deal Setup are Loan IQ, ACBS and VLS.

Job Responsibilities

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for reviewing documentation and approving loan transactions in various forms on the applicable commercial loan system. Candidates will also be asked to participate in projects assigned by the Manager. High volumes and daily deadlines are routine for this role.

Daily Responsibilities (include, not limited to):

  • Review of documentation to ensure compliance, credit, audit, and funding/pre-funding requirements are met.
  • Review of approved and executed documents to ensure approval is consistent with executed documents.
  • Quality Review and Approval of new loan bookings, renewals, and modifications on commercial loan system
  • Quality Review and Approval of loan fundings, wires, payments and rate updates
  • Ensure processed work is in compliance with procedures
  • Use of multiple loan systems and multiple supporting systems to complete quality review
  • Communicating and clarifying information regarding submitted items with processing teams
  • Responsible for meeting service level expectations in addition to team and individual goals

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Successful completion of all periodic High Value Business Entitlements (HBVE) background checks
  • A college degree or 2-3 years of Financial services or Operations experience required
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and judgment skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, and handle multiple tasks concurrently in a metrics driven environment
  • Understands the importance of details and seeks to understand their impacts; methodical approach to tasks; procedure/process oriented.
  • Works with a sense of urgency; seeks out and adapts to best practices; seeks constant improvement; motivated by personal and departmental goals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to function in a joint, cooperative manner; share information with co-workers and peers and support department and team plans, programs and policies
  • Support a teamwork/team spirit environment and present a professional attitude/image within department and in all company interactions
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize workloads, while working within tight service levels.
  • Proficient in use of all MS Office programs; can navigate multiple applications making use of shortcuts; can quickly adopt new systems.
  • Preferred prior experience in Quality & Control, Commercial Loan Booking & Funding or Loan Processing.
  • OT required occasionally
