SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and continued improvement of all of our quality manufacturing processes. Specially, the Quality Control Technician will lead continuous process improvement initiatives and perform engineering assignments to develop, test, implement and document manufacturing processes and methods required in manufacturing new and existing parts and/or products in accordance with product specifications, customer requirements and quality standards while also ensuring compliance to all required governmental laws and Environmental, Health and Safety standards. The Quality Technician will also assist in coordinating our production team in the light assembly of fiberglass components, heating unit assembly, vibration bed, the electronic touch screen and electrical control panel. Additionally, the Quality Technician will maintain the products ETL and CSA certification.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate with the production team to help achieve maximum output and efficiency.
• Assist with inventory control, ensuring BOMS are correctly documented and maintained.
• Assist with providing final quality control inspection prior to shipment.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipment;’ conferring with equipment vendors.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.
• Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
• Provide manufacturing information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintain product and process data base.
• Completes design and development projects by training and guiding factory workers.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering required. Preferred focus in mechanical, industrial and manufacturing engineering. Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with continuous process manufacturing engineering required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Ability to use engineering tools and principles to create a hands-on process solution. Working knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods. Ability to communicate effectively to influence and motivate others, maintaining a persuasive and credible style at all levels of the organization. Excellent problem solving, technical, written and oral communication and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft office software and other application software used in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models. Basic knowledge of 4M, 5S, ISO9000 and ISO14000 preferred. MAS90 or Sage System experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for some equipment or materials.
