Job Description:

The positon of Landscape Laborer is a seasonal position that typically runs April through November. We are looking for candidates that have a background in landscape construction activities. Selected applicants will be required to undertake equipment and operations safety training.

Specific Duties:

Job duties will include carrying out tasks related to landscape installation.

 Site preparation, raking, grading, and clean-up.

 Installing plants, seed and erosion control blanket.

 May be asked to perform some landscape maintenance.

 May be asked to assist in Controlled Prescribed Burns.

 May be asked to perform brush clearing and operate a chainsaw.

 Must be available Mon-Fri and occasionally on Saturdays.

 Must wear PPE such as hearing/eye protection and safety vests as required.

Experience and Skills:

 Strong oral communication skills, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, courteous and positive attitude, team player.

 Operation of skid loader and other large machinery a plus

 Efficient in the use of basic hand tools such as rakes, wheelbarrows, shovels, augers, etc. is a plus.

 Participation in controlled burns a plus

 Ability to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions.

 Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis.

 Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis.

 Ability to work around biting/stinging insects such as bees, poison ivy, and other environmental hazards.

 Must be 18 or older

Certifications Required:

 State issued driver’s license that is free from suspension or revocation during term of employment.
