Amazon Sortation is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Operational Trainer to play a critical role in improving safety, productivity and the overall customer experience. The Operational Trainer will be responsible for supporting change within the sites and for ensuring that all Associates have the appropriate skills. They are also responsible for inductions, cross training, skills assessment and Health & Safety (H&S) training.

As an night shift based Operational Trainer, you will play a critical role in supporting Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Transportation and Sortation functions with all training requirements and will report directly to the Operation with a dotted line to the EU ATS Consumer Talent Startegy, Management & Development (CTSMD) team, who manage all central training materials. Operational trainers help with the ongoing learning and refresher training for employees, enabling them to fulfill their potential within their organization. Our operational trainers are proactive rather than reactive, assessing the skills and knowledge within our organization and determining what training is needed to insure operational best practice and delivering it, providing clear return on investment.

Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate requires operational training experience, ideally within a transportation, warehouse, or similar international fast paced customer driven environment and will be responsible for:

  • Identifying training and development needs within an organization through analysis and regular consultation with the Ops and central functions teams
  • Supporting the EU ATS CTSMD team to produce new materials for in-house courses
  • Monitoring and reviewing progress of learning through audits and discussions with managers
  • Ensuring statutory training requirements are met
  • Being flexible and able to adjust training techniques according to individual learning abilities
  • Act as an ambassadors for Amazon Core Values, specifically around H&S training
  • Ensure training records are kept up to date
  • Adhere to training and process standards set by the EU ATS CTSMD team

Preferred qualifications
  • Intermediate-Advanced proficiency with MS Office packages, particularly Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Bachelor degree
