Job description
Fixed Term/Secondment (12 Months)
PO2: £39,615 PA rising to £42,510 PA
We want Lambeth to be one of the safest places for children and young adults to grow, develop and thrive; can you help us deliver our vision?
We are establishing several exciting and innovative projects to address the risks children and young adults face outside of their homes. Two of these are projects, Vanguard and Your Choice, are externally funded and we require two experienced youth practitioners to help deliver and coordinate these programmes.
The NHS England funded Vanguard programme’s overarching vision is to facilitate trauma-informed systems and multi-agency working which enables children and young adults affected by violence to thrive.
The Your Choice programme, funded by the Home Office and Youth Endowment Fund, provides training in tools informed by cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to frontline practitioners to enhance their practice and help children identify their values, goals, thinking patterns and triggers, while developing confidence and engaging in positive activities.
In the role, you will build trusted relationships with children and young adults at risk of exploitation and violence, as well as their families. You will support them to access the services and positive activities to help them achieve their goals and develop their fullest potential. You will also provide training and support to other professionals across the partnership.
A willingness to work flexibly in evenings and weekends is essential as is the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and maintain excellent partnerships to meet the needs and expectations of a diverse borough.
A qualification in the areas of Education, Social Care, Youth Justice, Youth Work, Health, Policing, or Community Safety is required. Candidates with lived experience of the justice system, exploitation, or violence are strongly encouraged to apply.
Lambeth Council is a vibrant workplace in an iconic borough and this is a particularly exciting time to join and help shape our approach to promoting safety and positive opportunity for young people.
Successful candidates will be asked to apply for an Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Further information about the DBS can be found at www.homeoffice.gov.uk/agencies-public-bodies/dbs
