Job description

Mission Peak is seeking an experienced embedded systems engineer for a full-time and long-term contract position in the San Francisco Bay Area. This engineer would have expertise in Linux/Android hardware abstraction layer (HAL) design, and specifically focused on connectivity/networking feature sets. The use case would be the design of cutting edge wireless consumer electronics. Essential qualification would be WiFi and/or Bluetooth feature development, and Linux Kernel design and integration experience.

Responsibilities:

• Review hardware schematics and support hardware design with low-level software components
• System bring-up
• Create device drivers and board support package (BSP)
• Integration of connectivity chipset drivers and firmware
• Test case design and debug in embedded C and Javascript environment

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in embedded software development
• Hands-on software development experience in embedded C environment
• Working knowledge of Java Script
• Experience with Android kernel
• Experience with ARM processors and device trees
• Working knowledge of Linux driver development
• Working knowledge of NAND Linux file system
• Experience working with and modifying u-boot
• Experience with git-SCM

Work is expected to be done on-site in an office/lab environment.
